About Park City
Located in the heart of Park City, Utah, Park City Proper is a tribute to the town's Victorian mining history. Known as the historic district, Old Town is conveniently located between Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Resort. The main attraction of the area is the picturesque Main Street, where visitors and residents can enjoy historic architecture and unique shopping opportunities.
Park City was first settled by Mormon pioneers in the late 19th century and incorporated in 1894. Soon after, silver was discovered in the area, leading to the growth of the town as miners came to work in the Silver King Mine. Later on in the 1960s, skiing became popular in Park City and led to the development of a thriving tourism industry. Today, Park City Proper offers upscale shopping and dining, historic public buildings and homes, top-notch resort accommodations, and a vibrant arts scene, all of which attract over 700,000 annual visitors.
Park City Proper includes Old Town as well as the neighborhoods of Prospector, Aerie, and Thaynes Canyon. In these areas, you’ll find beautifully-renovated historic miners' cottages, 19th-century townhomes with modern interiors, luxury penthouses at the base of the ski resorts, and beautiful ski-in/ski-out homes tucked into the mountains.
Park City Lifestyle
Park City Proper offers the convenience of a metropolitan lifestyle paired with luxury amenities and access to some of North America’s best ski slopes. The commercial center of Park City Proper is Old Town’s Main Street, where you can find high-end boutiques and gourmet dining options. Olive & Tweed is a local favorite for boutique clothing, designer perfumes, fine jewelry, and gifts.
There are many excellent restaurants in the area to choose from, whether you're looking for a quick bite or a more upscale dining experience.
